Office XP Trouble

I am running XP OS and Office XP. I installed a new hard drive in my
computer. After this installation Office XP and Outlook 2002 are not working.
I have attempted to uninstall it and re-install. It won't allow me to do
this. I keep getting the followng message:
"This patch package could not be opened. Verify the patch package exists and
that you can access it or contact application vendor to verify that this is a
Valid Window installer patch package."
My copy of Office XP is validated. I have no idea what this means. Does
anyone have any suggestions on how to get both these applications up and
running?Everything worked fine until I installed the new Western Digital Hard
Drive. All other programs appear to be working correctly.

DL,
I read this article and followed instructions as directed. I was able to
uninstall and reinstall OfficeXP but when I attempt to sync my PDA with the
desktop it still will not sync either Excell or Microsoft Outlook. When I
attempt to add a new appointment in calendar I get the following message:
Desktop requires attention. When I click on that the following message
appears.
"The following appointment failed to synchronize from the device. Support
Code:1"
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance.

Try asking your PDA's manufacturer for assistance. It sounds like it's on
that end, not Office.
