1 email keeps being received in Outlook MANY times

a client of mine has Outlook 2003 set up on 2 machines running windows
XP with service pack 2 - 1 is at the office and the other at home.
Both are set to access an external POP3 server and have 'leave email on
server' checked so emails come into both machines.

Several times a month, there'll be an email or 2 that keep getting
received. If you look at the mail via the hosting company's web email,
you see that the specific email is there only 1 time....

Any thoughts on why one (typically spam, but no attachment) email keeps
getting received / not flagged as having been received on that PC? If
you delete the email, problem solved till it randomly chooses one in a
week or month... turn off 'leave on server' and problem is also solved.
but then the client wants to be able to check email from both PCs and
if he leaves it running in the office, then he can't get that email at
home...

I have this happening on one of my company's machines but it's happening to
ALL his emails, not just 1. I have not found an answer yet. He has his
account only set up once on the machine and he takes the machine home so he
doesn't have it on 2 machines.

There is probably something corrupt in the headers of that e-mail. Use
the webmail interface to delete it from the server mailbox.

There most likely is nothing wrong with the message headers, it seems lots of
people are having this problem with outlook 2003 sp1, including myself. We
have 1 particular company email account that 4 people use to get production
related info. Only my machine gets duplicate messages. And only my machine
uses Office 2003 with sp1. The others use either Office XP, or outlook
express.

Maybe Microsoft should look into it, as there seems to be some bug in
Outlook 2003.
