10.1.5 update

After running the update, the version number in the About dialog still
reports as 10.1.4. Does this mean the update has not been installed, or
does it mean that the installer is faulty and not reflected in the About
item?

That's because the 10.1.5 update does not update the Entourage application.
However, each update does update the Microsoft Component Plugin, so checking
the the version of that file will tell you the latest update you have
installed. See the Entourage Help Page for more information:

If you encountered no errors, it is likely the update was successful.
Checking the version number of the Component Plugin should confirm that.

Perhaps it just means that entourage was not part of the 10.1.5 update...?

I have the same experience on a newly installed (and updated) copy of Office
