I thought this was fixed in one of the updates to Entourage 2004. Are you
sure your copy is up-to-date? Go to Help > Check for Updates and make sure
there aren't any more to download.

Here are my notes on it from a while back:
This is a known issue that is caused by viewing complex HTML messages prior
to opening the Accounts window. You can work around it by re-launching
Entourage and then editing your account before opening any complex HTML
messages.

Check the Microsoft Component Plugin. It's the true test of an update. You
can also download this script that tells you what version all Office
applications are.

Microsoft does not update each application every time an update is released.
