I had the windows fax before I installed Windows office 2000. It would
never work when I tried to recieve a fax so I gave up on it. It would just
connect(I answered manually when the window popped up) but then it would
answer give an error message. I noticed the Winfax Starter edition in
Outlook /accounts/mail after installing Office 2000. Then I noticed it in
the Printers folder with the Windows NT fax. The windows NT fax I know you
could access through accessories/communications/fax. I expect to get some
faxes next week so I am wondering which one will answer or what do I do. Do
I delete one or leave them and which one will answer? These fax programs
aren't set up like most programs and I can't find anything to give me an
overview on how they are supposed to work.

Not possible.
You must have installed the fax software with Outlook 2000 yourself as it
does not install by itself. I will assume you are using IMO mode of Outlook
and installed WinFax Starter edition.
Windows 2000 would have installed its own fax software behind the scenes if
it detected a compatible analog fax modem.
That's why you would have two fax programs.

You tell us.
What operating system?
What fax software did you install?
general
tab
it
says model windows NT fax Driver), and the other symantic fax starter
edition (under general tab it says model OLFAXDRV) and both say ready.
Is
this how it is supposed to be set up?
