2003 ClipArt

I have perused the list and read the messages on this topic... but I am
still unclear on how the 2003 version accesses clipart.

Scenario: The 2003 version is installed on a machine that is not connected
to the internet. No previous versions of Publisher or any office program
exists (so there is no other clip gallery available). How can a user in this
situation get clipart (other than downloading it from another machine and
transferring it onto floppy disk)?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your quick assist, Mary!

I had suspected that an internet conncection was required for 2003
clipart -- disappointing, but I'm glad I have an answer.

Thanks, again!

The only way you can get Office ClipArt is through the Office ClipArt web site. You
can import clipart from another computer, but it will not have search terms or
catalogs associated with the images, this you will have to do manually. There are
many good clipart packages available. A PowerPoint MVP, Geetesh Bajaj, has a review
on the "Big Box of Art". It has 615,000 images for only $70, that may sound like a
lot, but most are very high quality clips and photos. Microsoft uses Hemera as a
vendor.

Are you saying that installing Publisher from the CD offers NO options
for installing ANY clip art? I'm not up for reinstalling just to test
this but it doesn't seem to make any sense.

Publisher 2003 has *very* limited and basic clipart included. Just enough to
satisfy the built in wizards and templates. You must be online enabled to
search the 30,000+ pieces of clipart.

I am saying the only way you can get clipart for Office 2003 is through the Office
Clipart site... Office 2003 shipped with a very small amount of clipart, if one wants
more they will have to go to the Office web site.
All older versions of Publisher still have the clipart...
