[2003] "Countif" from two columns

I have a spreadsheet of this form:

A No
B Yes
A Yes
C No
C Yes
B No
A Yes
B No

I would like a function that would do a count based on values in both
columns. For example, a count of all of the "A" "Yes" would equal 2.
Anyone have any ideas how to do this?

You should use SUMPRODUCT like

=SUMPRODUCT((A1:A10="A")*(B1:B10="Yes"))

Why not use a PivotTable; it wil give you all the

Good suggestion, but in this specific instance I needed a function. The
previous answers worked famously.
