Has anyone had any luck with a large scale method of changing their mail rules
to make the 2004 rules work with 2008 without going through and tediously
changing everyone of them, saving it, changing it back and saving it again?
You need to reestablish the connection to the folder ID. There is no
automatic way to do this AFAIK. Rules is one of those features in Entourage
that is not automated. We've often asked for ways to backup and troubleshoot
rules. Send Feedback to Microsoft under Help in the Menu bar to add your
voice.
Tip: You can copy over the Rules file in the Identity folder to another
Identity. It's rare that this file is corrupt.
