2008 Categories not transferring to 2003 when imported by XL file

What version of Outlook do you have? There is no 2008.

I suppose, you mean OL 2007. Outlok offers no way to import the categories
back to the Master Category List of OL03. You may use Category Manager for
that. For details please see the link in my signature.
