"551 delivery" error sending e-mail

J

James Pullin

Can anybody help me? I have just started using MS
outlook (2003) to use to send/receive e-mail. Despite
being fairly confident that my POP3 and SMTP settings are
correct (Test account settings indicates all works well,
and e-mail is being received okay), attempts to send e-
mail are being met with returned mail from "System
Administrator" with message "551 delivery not allowed to
non-local recipient". Can anyone tell me what I'm doing
wrong, or how to correct it? E-mail to above address
welcomed.

Thanks in advance

You probably need to turn on authentication to your outgoing server. You
can do so on the "Outgoing Server" tab for your mail account.
