A minute to open a short mail...

I'm asking on behalf of a friend and can't supply much info. Still, I'll
throw this one before you and perhaps someone can make an educated guess:

Friend has Entourage, version I don't know. Mails from just one, single
person takes "forever" to open. They're:
Mime-version: 1.0
Content-type: text/plain;
charset="ISO-8859-1"
Content-transfer-encoding: quoted-printable

The sender is probably using OE and is very computer illiterate, so
there's almost no meaning in asking him test various preferences.

What might cause this severe delay?

That probably wouldn't help, but has he checked to see how much of that time
is taken transferring the message from the server? He ought to be able to
use something like tcpdump to work this out.

Cheers,

How big are they? Does this particular sender, for example, have a large
graphic signature file?
