AAARRRGGGHHH- save your work!

Win XP Pro, Office 2003
I spent the morning working on a document, which I started by saving
another document under a new name, and deleting everything in it so as to use
the template. After a couple of hours during which I don't think I saved it,
I inadvertently hit some of the keys below the left hand, and discovered
that yes, there apparently is a combination of keystrokes that will totally
delete the contents of a document and not allow the possibility of "undo".
Well, it's my own fault for not saving. I hope this cautionary tale may have
brought a little pleasure to those who, like myself until very recently,
find amusement in the misfortune of others :)

I thought my day was going badly, but I'm delighted to hear that yours is
worse. Perhaps it will become your destiny to post a daily catastrophe. An
emergency response that sometimes works in this situation (sadly, probably
too late for you) is to use the task manager to kill Word, then restart it
in the hope that it recovers your document. Very much a last resort: Undo is
normally a better option.
