"aack, child crashed" error message

Hello,

I use entourage for my business email. I've had two imap accounts set
up for months with little to no problem. Just recently, I started
running two new email addresses through entourage, using POP
accounts. I receive "aack, child crashed" error messages several time
a day. I've already verified all the account settings with my web
hosting company and everything is correct! Any help would be great.
Thanks!

This indicates a server problem on the POP server. Your hosting company
should know this from the error message. Nothing is wrong with your
computer or your setup.

I contacted my hosting company and they told me that there was nothing
wrong with the server and that it was a software issue on my end. Any
advice? is there something specific i can tell my hosting company to
resolve this issue?

What is the exact error message? Have you ever been able to receive mail on
these new POP accounts? Try to give as much detail as possible so we can
help.

Heh... That error isn't an Entourage error, and it's not coming from
your computer. They are either lying to your face or they are
completely clueless. Tell them to pop their heads out of their asses
and do a Google search for "mail server aack, child crashed":

Any decent mail server administrator should know this. If they don't
know it, then maybe you shouldn't be giving them your hard-earned money.

There are plenty of knowledgeable virtual hosts out there who don't try
to blame their own customers for server problems. I use
http://HostRocket.com and they are excellent. Maybe you should give
them a try?

Yes, I have received email here and I continue to get email
periodically throughout the day. Entourage looks for new email every
10 minutes. One out every handful of attempts, it works. The
majority of the time, however, it returns the message...aack, child
crashed. I will contact my hosting company again and if the person I
get can't help, I'll ask to move up a level of support. The hosting
company seems like a very reputable company and has great 24/7
support. I just need to get the right person on the phone.
