Absolute newbie question - Entourage 2004 / Exchange 2003 setup

Ok, please PLEASE be gentle on me in here, but.... <gasp> I do not have
any experience setting up a Mac (OS X (10.3)) with Entourage 2003 to
access an Exchange 2003 server and I need some SERIOUS help (mental as
well as with this issue... ha ha).

Here is our setup:
1. Brand new Windows 2003 domain
2. Exchange 2003 (all latest sps applied) basic default settings with a
few adjustments
3. OWA setup an configured for forms based authentication. SSL cert
installed, etc.
4. Everything works for all clients (OWA, Outlook 2003, etc.)

Here is the problem:
1. I have tried to configure (per the best instructions I can find)
Entourage 2004 to connect to the exchange server and I am having ZERO
luck. It just doesn't seem to want to talk to the server.
2. I can access OWA (although it looks like crap) all day long from the
same mac. No problems whatsoever.
3. This must be configured soon and I am VERY VERY limited on my Mac
knowledge (remember be gentle).

Can any please provide the steps (gotchas, etc.) on how to accomplish
this? Any tips/links/etc. would be very much appreciated!!!!! :D

Best regards,

Steve Cornelius

Hi Steve,

Here is the problem:
1. I have tried to configure (per the best instructions I can find)
Entourage 2004 to connect to the exchange server and I am having ZERO
luck. It just doesn't seem to want to talk to the server.

Connect to OWA using your web browser.
Copy the http:// link (the whole thing) and use it in your Entourage
settings as your Mail server.
It should look like that: https://my.owaserver.com/exchange/me

In your Free/Busy settings, you can use
https://my.owaserver.com/exchange/public.

Make sure that "Use SSL" is checked.

Let us know if you still have problems after doing that :))

(PS: also make sure both the SYstem and Office are up to date (10.3.9
and 11.2.3 respectively).
