ac07 How do I get rid of a Drop Down handles in a sub form

A sub form (fsubCallDetail) for which the purpose is to DISPLAY detail
records only. The parent form, frmCall, shows the Contact information and
fsubCallDetail is to show an overview of call history. I tried playing with
the various properties but I can't find the one that turns off the display of
the drop down handle for lookup fields.

The same problem exists with the date fields, the calendar tag should not
appear on this sub form. These objects should show on the applicable add/edit
forms but the sub form is not for add/edit.

Two ways:

1)
Built your own continues sub-form and don't use a datasheet

2)
Turn off the shortcut menus for the sub-form and that also hides the drop
down handles...

Not using Lookup Fields might also be an answer:
