Access 2003 Input Mask behavior

I have a text box control that I created an input mask for. (Mask==
000000"WU";0;_) When the form is being used, the mask only appears if
the mouse is used to click on the control. Tabbing into the control
leaves the control empty. Is there an options setting that I need to
change?
