Access 97 Save query to excel - Read only error

Trying to save a query from access 97 to a excel spreadsheet. When I try to
save it I get a error: "Can't Update. Database or object is read-only".

I searched knowledge base and saw a couple of articles discussing length of
the directory name. The solution seemed to be upgrading the jet database.

But I'm already at the current version of the jet database: msjet35.dll
version 3.51.3328.0

I can save to other directories, but basically can't save anywhere under My
Documents or deeper directories.

Anyone seen this under this version of Jet? Any ideas?
