Access Developer Handbook Question

D

David

Hello all,
I am a novice, but trying to get better. I have
purchased the Access Developer's Handbook both volumes,
about 3,000 pages. Unfortunately, most of the example
databases tell me they are read only and are frequently
getting corrupted. Is this a reference library problem?

If so, is there a standard set of reference library's I
should enable OR is every database different?

Mr. Allen Browne told me about turning the auto naming
off on new databases, is there a standard set of things I
should do with each database?

Thanks in advance for your help.

David

When you copy them from the CD they may still have the Read Only attribute
set. If they are still on the CD then they are by definition Read Only.

You need to open the Properties dialog box and uncheck the Read-Only
check box.
