access shared contact database through email

I have a server and networked computers. We have 1 database on the main
computer and share out the contacts. From the main computer I can send an
email and click on contacts to obtain the necessary email address. However
from the other machines on the network when sending email and clicking on the
“To†to access the address book they cannot get to the shared contact
database. Is there a way to make the contact database on the main machine a
global address book or a way to access the shared contact database? I know
that we can access the contact manager, click on the contact, and right click
on the email address to send an email but I’m trying to find an easier way.
Thank you for any help you can provide

Server type? Outlook client version? How are you sharing?
