access to news; italic symbols

Dear experts,

I have no access to the newsgroups of Word except
for 'Programming'; in all other cases it is
said 'newsgroup not available'. Do you know the reason for
it?
What I wanted to ask: In certain Word documents I cannot
italicise Greek letters/symbols in contrast to ASCII
letters. Have you already encounterd that problem?

its the backing font - if the font doesnt have an italic face, ya
canna do it
