Accessing "protected" area of .doc

Is there a way for a user to access and enter text in a locked-out
section of a Word document?
I have an employment application (
http://www.humboldt.k12.ca.us/personnel/P_FORMS_word/classified_application.doc -
or via http://tinyurl.com/4byfd ) that asks for "licenses &
certificates" but the text area they attempt to provide is protected.

Any workarounds - short of printing it out and finding a typewriter
(remember them?)?

The protected section needs to include form fields into which users can type

Using Office 2003 Word I was able to unprotect it by clicking on "Tools" ,
click on "Unprotect Document" and under formatting restrictions I click the
box, and it unprotected the document.

I hope it works for you.
