Accidentally deleted user data... trying to restore my mail, contacts, etc.

I think I've accidentally deleted the user data that stores my e-mail
folders, e-mails, contacts and whatnot in Entourage. (I was cleaning up
the hard drive and must have thrown out the wrong thing). Now Entourage
opens fine but acts as though it's the first time i've opened it and
has no memory of me.

I hit the "empty trash" button before i releazed the problem. So i have
a disc recovery program which can look for items which have been
deleted from the trash, but i'm not sure what files/folders to look for
(or what file extension type).

if i can find these files, does anybody have any experience about how
to re-import the data and what' the likelihood is that it will work?

thanks for any help any smart folks out there can offer!!

Kristin,
The folder you are looking for is "Microsoft User Data", which is
in your "home" folder.

Good Luck !

Gary

ps: fyi, I backup my entire home folder weekly.

Actually, it's the "Main Identity" folder (unless you renamed your identity,
then it would be that name) which lives in the "Office 2004 Identities"
folder, which lives in the "Microsoft User Data" folder, which actually
lives in the Documents folder of your user (home) folder.

The essential component of you identity folder is a file called, simply
"Database" (no extension). The other files in the folder (which you could
manage without) are the Mailing Lists, Rules and Signature files.
