Account Verification Failure

We have upgraded to Office 2008 and installed it on new imac's with
OS
X 10.5.4.
When I try to Verify an account to the Exchange server I get the
error:
Verifying Exchange account "Verification Failed: "Logon failure:
unknown user name or bad password" (-17900 )
The only way I can fix the problem is to setup the main user as an
admin on the system.
Any ideas on a fix?
Thanks

I really have no clue why the user has to be admin on the machine. I see
no good reason for that.
I usually see these errors in the following situations:
- corrupted keychain: repair it through the Keychain first aid command
in the Keychain Access application, or delete the Exchange entry in the
Keychain to let Entourage re-create one.
- improperly configured account: usually people forget the domain, or
use a short name instead of the long one...

In either cases, being Admin shouldn't help in any way,

Corentin

can you log into Outlook Web Access with Safari (or Firefox) using the
non-admin account?

If you can (and I see no reason why the account status should affect
that) then you should be able to log in with Entourage.

Double-check every character of the account information and try again.
