Activation error message with Office 2003

Just downloaded Office 2003 over Office 2000 - (Standard) for home PC. I was
also able to get recent updates downloaded. When accessing an application for
the fitst time I get only two options in a pop-up box; 1) Activate over
Intenet, and 2) convert to full product. When activating over Internet I get
error message after 1/2 complete..."communication error...try again in a few
minutes." Intenet connectivity is fine (Bellsouth DSL). Option for phone
activation is grayed out and no tech support is available for trial versions.
Anybody run into this....self-help docs and FAQ does not identify this
message in any of it's documentation. Thanks
