ActiveSync issue with CDOEx coded appointments

Hi,

I'm using CDOEx on Exchange 2003 to add an appointment to a user's calendar
from a VS2005 C# project. That's working fine. However when I sync the
appointment to my Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC Phone's calendar I have a
problem. It's taking 2 syncs for the device to be happy with the
appointment. The second sync seems to be initiated by Exchange as the
schedule settings on the device are set to 'As Items Arrive' and I've
unchecked 'Send outgoing items immediately'.

If I open the appointment in Outlook before manually initiating a sync
(schedule setting = 'Every 5 Minutes'), and close it, (I make no changes so
I'm not promped to save anything) the appointment will sync the first time
and no second sync is necessary.

Appointments that I add in Outlook sync the first time and no second sync is
necessary.

I've compared all the field values in the CDOEx Appointment object's field
collection; reading them back immediately after saving a new appointment and
again after syncing, and they are identical apart from the
'urn:schemas:mailheader:thread-index' field.

Can anyone help please.

Best Regards,

Craig
