ActiveX component can't create object

I get exactly the same error when I open Powerpont 2003.
I am not running any scripts - just launching the program.
I have asked Microsoft - no help what so ever.
I have removed and reinstalled Office - nothing there either.
I have searched KBs - still nothing

Can't anyone offer any help to this annoying problem????
