add a prtoduct barcode UPC in Publisher

Besides scanning, is there a way to add a UPC or product barcode as an object
in Publisher? I don't see an option, but maybe there is a 3rd party product
that will generate print-quality barcodes and save as images or objects. I am
creating a printed insert for the cover of a DVD. Thanks!

You'll need to find yourself some barcode fonts, and use one of those.

Thanks, Ed. I'm on the hunt for a font. I found an online free generating
tool, but it puts out a 96 dpi jpg and if you want a higher res file, you can
buy their software at the gracious price of $99. Fonts sound easier...

Can you try to use barcode ActiveX control?

The EaseSoft Barcode ActiveX Control supports UPC, Postnet and most
other linear barcodes.

Get out of town.

a) Publisher will not host ActiveX controls in documents.
b) The OP almost certailny doesn't have the expertise to develop a custom
solution to use your control (and if they did, they would be able to develop
one for a lower cost than the cost of your product)
c) The OP has now stated that they don't want to pay $99 for barcode
software. Your software costs more than this.
d) I hate it when people advertise their commercial products as answers to
questions when thy are completely inappropriate.

Yes, but one could give it a trey. 'Figured numbers are numbers.

Numbers are numbers, and lines are lines, but encodings are always
different.

PostNet barcoding uses bar heights, UPC barcoding uses bar widths and
spacings.
