Add date IF

I have a cell

A1 which has a date in it (i.e. 1/1/04)

I need excel to calculate the following in B1

If the date is between 1/1/04 and 1/15/04 then the date in B1 will be at the
end of the month 1/31/04 - which I can get with the EO month formula BUT if
the date is between 1/16/04 and 1/31/04 then I need to have the date read 6
weeks later.
This formula can not be month specific as I need to run it down a list of
varied dates which cover the entire year

Does this make sense? I know it will be a nested argument - just can't
figure out how to make it generic for the year.

Not sure how to add 6 weeks (42 days?) but here's one stab

=IF(DAY(A1)<=15,EOMONTH(A1,0),A1+42)
