Add words to a function

Rick Dunmire

Hello all,

I have a question about adding words to a function. What I want to do is
have a final result of lets say 600 oz. in a cell. I am starting with a
function like this (we are using B2 which is 75 and B3 which is 8) =B2*B3.
This would give me 600 but I want to put oz. on the end. Can this be done?

Thanks

Rick

3 ways of doing it.

1.

=(A1*B1)+N("OZ")

2.

=(A1*B1)&"OZ" (with this one, you can not perform mathematica
manipulations)

3.

format the cell as Custom - #"OZ

the first method [=(A1*B1)+N("OZ")] will only show "OZ" in the formul
bar, not in the cell. the second and third methods will show it in th
cell

Custom format the cell in which you have the formula:

Format/Cell/Number/Custom Type: 0" oz."

Thanks everyone,

I need the oz in the cell like this (600 oz) but I also need to manipulate
that same cell using just the numeric portion (600).
I suppose this will complicate matters.

The Custom format work great.

Thanks again everyone
