add yahoo email account

I have followed the directions to add my account to Outlook 2003 for Windows
XP. Unfortunately it does not seem to work as the guidance suggests.

Specifically, (1) my password is not being accepted, and the dialog box will
not go away, and (2) the inbox subfolders are not being displayed, and maybe
because #1 is not working.

I would appreciate any guidance in this regard. Thank you.

Which directions? Outlook can't access Yahoo accounts unless you paid Yahoo
for POP access...or you're using a third party utility to access Yahoo in
Outlook.

Did you pay for the Yahoo Mail account (so you actually then get
authorized to access their POP3 and SMTP mail servers)? Or are you
using their freebie account (and will have to use YahooPOPs if you want
to use a POP3/SMTP e-mail client)? Can you login using their webmail
interface with those same login credentials (username and password)?
