Adding a 2nd account

D

David Toerne

I added a second email account (Yahoo) and followed instructions for POP
settings. When I try to receive email form the new account, I get: "The
server returned the error "invalid user/password' Your user name/password or
settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?
Nothing I try works. Is it even possible to have 2 accounts feeding into
entourage?

Thanks

It is possible to have more than two accounts in Entourage; however, there
is a problem with Yahoo US. Yahoo US does not allow users of its free mail
services to use POP access, and if I remember correctly, you can only do
that if you upgrade to a Yahoo Plus account. I'm not really sure, though, so
make sure you check that with Yahoo before/if you decide to pay for Yahoo
Plus.

You can have multiple accounts in Entourage.

1. Go to the system keychain and delete the entry for that account.
OS X: Open Keychain to delete
OS 9: System Folder>Preferences>Keychain.

2. Go to Entourage, select 'accounts' from the Tools menu, choose the
account that was giving you trouble and click on Edit. Select the 'account
settings' tab.

3. Delete the password from the password box in the POP settings (leaving
the box empty).

4. Close the account window.

5. Re-open the account window and enter your proper password, check the
'save in keychain' check box and close the window again.

The password should now stick.

If that doesn't work, you probably need to run Keychain First Aid.
