adding audio files

I've tried to add a .mp3 file to my slideshow, but for some reason,
PowerPoint will only allow me to add a .wav file. Does anyone know how I can
add the .mp3 file, or even convert the file to a .wav file so I can insert
it? I have been trying to figure out a way for some time now and am
beginning to get aggravated. Any help is appreciated.

Powerpoint won't add mp3 files if the path to the file is long. Move the mp3
into the same folder as the presentation before inserting see if that works


Also further info here on fooling ppt intp thinking mp3 files are wavs
