Adding music and converting to DVD

I have made a slideshow and would like to add music to it and convert it to
DVD. I have everything finished, but can't figure how to add the 5 songs I
want to the slide show. I did read other posts, but what I want to know is,
do I have to get other software to do this? I do not have money to buy these
high priced programs!

If this is a one time thing, then take advantage of one of their free trial
periods and create your movie. By all means evaluate the software, see what
you like and what you don't, so that if you need to do this more often, you
will know which program you want to buy.

You've stated 2 separate problems. The first, how to put music in your
program and keep it as a PPT show. In Powerpoint click on Help...
Microsoft Powerpoint Help.... now type in Music in the search window. That
will give you most of the info you need to add music. One caveat, though.
If you want to imbed one music file to play throughout the show it must be a
wave file. If you want to hyperlink music to certain slides they can be
jpegs, etc. But it you want to have them play on another computer you must
include those music files so the hyperlink can find them.

When you say you want to convert it to a DVD I assume you mean you want it
to play on a regular TV DVD player. That won't work. That player doesn't
have the Powerpoint program or viewer needed to play a Powerpoint program.
You will need some method to convert it to normal video to play it on a DVD
player. That requires a 3rd party program. Some are free, most are not.

If you merely wanted to burn your PPT program to a DVD for more room (4.7GB
versus 700MB) that will work fine in your computer only. If you want it to
play on another computer that other computer will have to have a DVD player
drive and either the PPT program or viewer must be available on that other
computer.
