adding text to the footer of the protected document

I want to create template which will be protected form. I
would like to add the User Form asking user for some input
which has to be inserted into the footer. What is the best
way to do that.

Use the code in the userform to insert the text into a bookmark in the
footer and then protect the document.

ActiveDocument.Bookmarks("nameofbookmarkinfooter").Range.InsertBefore "some
text"
ActiveDocument.Protect wdAllowOnlyFormfields, NoReset
