Adding Unbound Control to DIP

I am creating a document information panel with a sharepoint content type
datasource. Using Visual Studio, is it possible to add a control (ie, a
checkbox) to the DIP that is not bound to a field in the content type? I
would like to use the checkbox as an intermediate step to populate another
field, but do not need to store the boolean value of the checkbox.

Hey Candj
While it is possible to do this is (in theory) it is not supported by
InfoPath, although I understand you do not wish to store the bool value in
the data source, is there any more context as to why this value should not
be stored, considering it's a reasonably negligible piece of data to store
in terms of size?

One option may be to have the user tick the check box then once the value
has been processed hide the check box from view and clear the value in the
data source?

Hope this helps,

Cheers
