address book and exchange server

I use Entourage 2004 on 2 different macs with an Exchange server. When
I make a new single contact on one machine, the exchange server
updates the address book, just like it's supposed to.

But when I make a new group address on one machine, the exchange
server doesn't update it on the other machine.

Any ideas on how to get a group address to sync up on the exchange
server?

Thanks,

Nils

Entourage doesn't sync groups. Sorry.

If I manually copy the database from one machine to the other, will
that copy the groups? If so, are there any downsides to doing this?

Copy the whole Identity folder:

~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2004 (or X) Identities/Main
Identity (or named identity)

The downside would be that if you've been using the second computer
independently, you'd lose any data that existed only there. You could work
around that by giving the identity folder a different name. With most of
Entourage's items (groups excepted), you could drag the unique to the
desktop from one identity, switch identities, and drag them in.

Alternatively, if you're going to do this frequently and can't be sure that
you'll always immediately replace one copy of the identity with the other
computer's before using it, you might want to look into my Export-Import
Entourage X scripts at

MacScripter.net <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/>

They can transfer groups, calendar, tasks, notes, signatures, contacts, etc.
etc. including categories from one copy of Entourage to another.
