Address book contacts

Satyam

Hi,

I am trying to keep the Apple AddressBook and Entourage 2004
Address book in sync by exporting Apple Addressbook items as
vCards and importing them into Entourage. When I do this the
contacts in Entourage are not in sorted order even after
selecting sort by "name" field.

Did anyone come across the same problem and/or if so does
anyone know how to fix it ?

Thanks in advance,
/Satyam

Ho, ho. I just posed a nearly similar question. Hope there is a solution.

Thanks, Mickey.

Those http://scriptbuilders.net/search... URLs no longer work since
scriptbuilders (macscripter.net) changed their servers and structure: their
search engine works fine but no longer produce URLs.

I could tell you what the URL would be for the current version of that
script (2.6.4), but as soon as the script is updated the URL would also be
dead. Therefore it wouldn't be a good thing to save the URL in a signature
or elsewhere unless you want to keep updating it every time the script is
updated.

So in future it's probably best just to gibe Scriptbuilders' main URL:

MacScripter.net <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/>

and then use its Search box to find the script you want. ere enter "Sync
Entourage-Address Book" (no quotes).

or First Names?

Entourage 2004 sorts contacts in Last Name, First Name order, eve
though the Name field displays them the other way around (and if th
names are absent displays other text). Entourage's sorting logic is t
float "empty" fields to the top of the sort order. Thus, all items wit
an empty Last Name/First Name will float to the top in
LIFO-added-to-database order.
