Address book display problem

Address book shows as a list of icons only, down the left
side of the box in which the list is displayed, and the
remainder of the box is shown in gray only (one cannot
see the text of the address entries, but they are still
there); right-clicking on any location in which text does
not appear gives one the normal context menu, and
selecting the enty's properties brings up a properties
sheet that is also "grayed-out."

We suspect this anomaly has something to do with our
recent move to distributing MS updates via SUS, but
cannot find any references yet in any documentation.

Has anyone else seen this phenomenon?
