Address book sort order

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) My sort order in my address book is acting weird. When I click on the column heading, it sorts A - M and then N - Z. No Matter what I do. Why is this happening? This started happening after my system was updated with 12.2.3 version. It does not happen on other computers. Is there a setting that needs to be changed?

Export your contacts as .rge file. Under File > Export > select only
contacts to export.

Create a new Identity (no need to enter account info) cancel out of setup.

Import the .rge file for contacts.

Does the problem exist in a new Identity?
