Address Book will not open

I can see my contact details using the contacts shortcut, but every time I
try to open the address book, send an e-mail, print my contact list, or
select "import and export ", I get the message "An error occurred while
attempting to open the Windows Address Book." I am running Outlook 2000 on
Vista Home Premium. I can still receive mail.

The only thing I did between the system working perfectly and this issue is
run an ArcSoft backup utility. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Office to no
avail.

Outlook 2000 does not work well with Vista in Internet Mail only mode. See http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/vista.htm

Either switch to Corporate or Workgroup mode or upgrade to 2003 or 2007 which are fully supported on Vista. Prior versions were out of mainstream support when Vista was released and they were not tested, nor will there be any fix released.
