Address book won't link to contacts even after checking checkbox

After importing a backup of my contacts from an older computer to a new one
the Address book won't link to contacts even after checking checkbox as the
help file suggested

This occurrs though I can see all of the contacts when pressing the contacts
tab

I only have one contacts file showing under My Contacts in the left side pane

Why would you import Outlook data? Was it in some other format?
State more clearly what you did and why.
