I want to create a slimmed down address book that will be my main
address book that I can then synch with my blackberry 7100. My current
address book has over 700 entries and the majority could be archived so
to speak but I would prefer to have access to them if needed. What is
the best way to accomplish this? I am guessing that I can set up a new
identity, but how do I move the contacts that I want from one to the
other?

How about dragging them from the old address book to the Finder and from
the Finder into the new address book? m.

Or even using the 'export' command, which allows you to save the address
book contacts as a tab-delimited file.
