Address book

For some reason I can't reply to your answer, Diane.
My address book doesn't seem to be in any order. The first name is Tom
Williams and the second is Susan Ady. Going down the list they aren't in
order by either first or last name. I'm beginning to wonder if I made a
mistake switching from Windows XP on a PC to an iMac.

The import process may have garbled some of the names.

Examine each name in detail by double-clicking it in the address book. Make
sure that you have the first name in the first name field, the last name in
the last name field, and no extraneous spaces at the beginning of either.

If a lot of them are garbled, you may be better off to try importing again
and fixing the problems after export but before import.

One more thing to check: When you open Entourage's address book, is the Name
field highlighted? If not, the list may be sorted on some other field
altogether, such as e-mail address.

Nothing is garbled or highlighted. You're right it is sorted in reverse
order by e-mail address. I can't find a sort command anywhere. Do you know
if there is one?

Click on the column header labeled "Name". Clicking on a header sorts on
that column. If the column is already sorted, the click sorts it in reverse
order.

Thank you, Ed. I now have a complete address book in order by last names.
