I absolutely can't read the VERY VERY SMALL text that Entourage uses for the
address book entries. When you click on a list entry to view the details for
that contact, the window that opens has extremely small and unreadable text
in it. Any way to increase the size of this?
There's no way to adjust that type size, short of adjusting the resolution
of your computer to a smaller pair of pixels per inch (in System
Preferences/Displays). If you open the contact into its "booklet", the
entries appear larger there, and some of them (e.g. email addresses) can be
made much larger via Preferences/Fonts/List/Size. In fact, you might be best
off by increasing that List size to 12 or 14, then NOT viewing the details
in the preview Pane but instead just in the unopened list view in the
Address Book itself. You can add virtually every bit of information to that
view by View/Columns and checking all the columns. Then you just need to
scroll horizontally to see what you want. The only exceptions would be email
addresses after the first one and the Notes, which can't be read in their
entirety in Preview Pane anyway and require opening the full contact.
On a related note.....if any of you have used Outlook 2003 (windows), you
get to view your entire address book (including all details) at once....like
they were business cards all stuck together......why is Entourage so UN-user
friendly? Or is it just me?
It's mostly you. Just get used to the fact that Entourage is not Outlook,
it's a separate app developed separately. It has far fewer options than
Outlook and much less complexity. So sometimes it will be missing some
features you know from Outlook (some of which may bet added in in later
releases) which you choose to call being "less user-friendly". But in many
ways its better and less complicated design actually makes it _more_
user-friendly: for example, categories. In Entourage, the primary category
is self-evident as a color, wherever it occurs. In Outlook you have to go
digging for it as a property hiding two or three levels deep in windows that
have to be opened by subsubmenu items. Or Projects - there's nothing like
that on Outlook.
You can make feature requests both here and via the Help menu/Send Feedback.
