Advertising with Publisher 2000

I've looked first, went all the way back to posts from '03 and can't
seem to find out how to use publisher to set up display advertising for
newspapers and magazines.

I need both a 1/4 page ad and a 1/6th page ad that I can send to the
publishers. All small local rag & gags, but for them to do it form me
is out of my pocket.

Both publications are 8 1/2 x 11 format. I'm using Publisher2000

Thanks

There's really nothing different about using Publisher to make an ad from
making a newsletter. I would STRONGLY recommend asking the company that's
printing it what formats they accept. I did an quarter-page ad for a friend
for a national magazine and they specifically stated no Publisher formats.
Regardless of what I think of that, it's their rule and I was obligated to
work within their specifications.

There are built in advertising templates in Publisher. They are all 2 x 2. If
you type 4.25 x 5.5 or vice versa in the page setup, Publisher will adjust the
size automatically. A 1/16 size page is 2.75 x 2.125 (Publisher will round the
2.125 to 2.13).

Most commercial printers will accept a PDF file, there are free converters
around, this is one:

Thank you Mary, That's what was throwing me off. The sizes that were
always changing.
