After deletion...

I'm just starting to use Entourage, and I like it a lot. I'm curious to see what I can do with the calendar. But for now I have a question about the email. When I delete a message, I do NOT want Entourage to open the next new message. I've checked 'Close Message Windows' in the prefs, but it still opens the next message. Totally annoying. There has to be a way to correct this.

Help please...

There are different views you can use. Are you opening each mail in it's own
window, or are you using the preview pane below? You might like the 3 pane
view better.
