After Repair Database one of my folders under"On My Computer" disappeared

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

I had to repair my database and when I did the folder I kept all my email messages disappeared. I had a folder called "old messages" within "On My Computer" how do I get this back? I know that data is still in the database file for it is over 2 Gigs but how do I get my folder to return with all my emails? I do have a backup of my database but it is the database file that needed to be repaired. Is there a preference or something somewhere that will return my folder with all my emails?

If you can still open the original Identity before it was rebuilt, you can
try dragging that folder to the desktop as an MBOX file. If it will not
drag, then create a folder and the desktop and drag the individual messages
into this folder. These can be dragged back into your new Identity.

It will not let me use the original identity without rebuilding. but when I rebuild the folder is gone, but I know the data is still in the database file because of the size.

Do you have messages in folders "On My Computer", or is your mail on the
Exchange server?

If you mail is on the server, then simply create a new Identity in Entourage
and let Entourage sync with the data on the server.

Rebuilding on a larger drive could be more successful in rebuilding.

All the emails were stored on my local machine so that the exchange server would not be overloaded with emails. So non of the emails in my folder "On My Computer" are on the exchange server. I have over 500 GIGs of free space on my hard drive so that would not be an issue.

If you look in the Office 2008 Identities folder, you should see the
original copy of Entourage. It will be named something like this.

Main [Backed up 7-06-2009 13.35]

Did this Identity open or did it give you the error message to rebuild? If
we can find a backup copy that will open we can salvage the data. Otherwise,
you could see if Apple mail could import it. I would try on the original
[Backed up xxxxx] and not the rebuilt copy named Main.
