All email shows up as EML folders

So, this absurd issue has reappeared, and definitely is not fixed by
12.1.5. Is there any idea on when this might be fixed? Database rebuild
does not fix the problem.

A screen shot would definitely help...

Actually, can't see how a screenshot would help at all. It's this
problem:

er.html

Initially appeared with 12.1.4; for me, a database rebuild seemed to
make the problem go away. This morning, it reappeared, and rebuilding
the DB did not help. Coincidentally, the 12.1.5 update appeared today,
and I applied this, which made no difference (not that I expected it to).

I have 2 Exchange accounts defined in this identity, as well as 3 POP
accounts. The issue only appears on the accounts where Entourage has to
communicate with another Microsoft product.

Emails appear fine in Outlook, the issue is strictly on the Entourage
side.

The last few Entourage releases have been really bad. The meeting invite
bug was a huge boner, and this one essentially disables Exchange
support, which is the main point of Entourage. The fact that this was
reported getting close to two months ago, has no workaround and no fix
is really disappointing.

We recently began having THE EXACT same problem as this person and several others on these forums. What is going on?! This is a CRITICAL flaw and needs to be addressed as HIGH PRIORITY by Microsoft!

Our environment:

Exchange Server:
Exchange 2007 Enterprise SP1
Windows 2003 Enterprise x64

Clients:
Entourage 2008 (12.1.4)
Mac OS X 10.5.5

On December 1st we migrated to Exchange 2007/Entourage from a Unix-based email/calendar system with QuickMail and/or Mail.app. Less than three weeks later these symptoms began to appear. We are very concerned.

We were really looking forward to offering an enhanced messaging experience to our users. This problem is a potential disaster.

First, please keep in mind that these newsgroups are peer-to-peer. There
isn't much we can do. The best way is to send feedback to Microsoft .

When working in Office, you can use the ³Send Feedback² option under the
Help menu in all of the Office applications.

While I can't pretend to claim that this solves problem of objects (emails,
events and contacts) appearing as .eml folders, ever since I changed my Junk
Email Protection from "Exclusive" to "High" the problem has stopped.

In fact, as I look back, most of the times the corruption occurred, I was
moving back and forth between reading emails and updating contacts from
those emails.

Perhaps it's just a coincidence, but it has worked for me so far (knock on
wood) --about two months.

As an aside, I was contacted by a Microsoft developer directly and he was
pleasant and eager to solve the problem. We beat them up a lot so I wanted
to pass on the kudos.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for sharing this option. I'll also pass along your compliment. I'm
sure it will be appreciated.

Happy Holidays!
