All Entourage calendar data and task have vanished

I've been having trouble with syncing my Entourage with iCal via dot
Mac. Suddenly today it all seemed to start working properly but now
all of the data in my Entourage calendar - including vital tasks -
have vanished. Needless to say this is disasterous. Is it possible
that the sudden successful syncing has wiped my Entourage data with
the iCal data (which had nothing - it was all in Entourage).

Would really appreciate some help!

Thanks

Same thing happened to me after I loaded 2008. So I restored the data from Time Machine. Everything is OK now EXCEPT that Entourage will not sync with iCal. It does with Address Book, however.
I sent a message to Microsoft and received a message that I should search their site. Thank you Microsoft - great customer service!!!

Select your Entourage Identity in Time Machine and select the Restore
button. AFAIK you can't select individual data from a Time Machine backup.

See these articles to help backup Entourage.

Entourage and Time Machine (creates chronological backup of Identity can be
used by both Tiger and Leopard)

Sync Services for Leopard and Office 08 users has many problems. I suggest
disabling it. See these articles.

Thanks Diane, I'm still on Office 4 and Tiger but what I failed to
mention is that I'm using Exchange server. I can now see what's
happened, I just don't know why or how I can correct it. For no
apparent reason iCal started to work properly (previously it would not
create calendars or events or to-do's; it would not publish to dot Mac
nor would Sync Services in Entourage sync with iCal) - suddenly it
popped up and showed all the previous calendars I had created but
which had never shown in the side panel. So now it all works,
Entourage syncs with iCal and iCal published to dot Mac. The issue is
that in doing so iCal, with no data, updated Entourage and thus all my
appointments and to-do's (I rely heavily on Project Centre) were over
written. This despite the fact that the appropriate radio button to
ensure Entourage updated iCal (the top one) was engaged.

Thanks

What version of 2004? Look under Entourage in the menu bar and select About
Entourage. I need to verify this happened in the latest version of
Entourage.

What version of Tiger and Exchange?

Thanks for the feedback. I guess what I can do is be more forceful in
advising users to duplicate their Identity on a daily basis.
