ALL MAIL BEING THROWN INTO JUNK FOLDER

M

MomTo5Monkeys

All of a sudden - with no changes on my part - all of my emails are
being thrown into my JUNK FOLDER.

Most of the people are already in my address book - which you claim
that NO ONE in your address book would EVER be classified as junk -
and even on the ones that are not, I am creating DOMAIN RULES on, and
they are STILL being thrown into the JUNK folder.

This is really getting annoying. My protection level is set to LOW -
and has been the same. It just started happening all of a sudden.

Can someone PLEASE help me?!?!?

See if you have not inadvertently created a MLM (Mailing List Manager) rule.
Go to Tools>Mailing List Manager and delete any rules that might be there.

Ok, I had a few rules in there, but they were real specific to 2
senders that I classify as JUNK. I checked to make sure that nothing
got caught up in those rules that shouldn't have been. Looked ok.
But, just in case, I deleted ALL rules period. I will see if it
throws the next legit message into my JUNK folder. If it does, I will
reply to this to see if you might have any additional thoughts?

Thanks! :)

Well....I am completely clueless, but that seemed to do the trick.
Now will I need to "re-categorize" all the junk as junk??

Sorry, I don't really understand what you are trying to ask. Junk messages
do not have to be marked as junk since Entourage's junk filter is not
Bayesian, i.e. it does not automatically learn which messages are junk if
you define them as such. So if you have older junk messages which did not
get marked as junk, you can trash them and create a rule to discard messages
like that automatically.

'Mailing List Manager' entries work differently to Rules, and are designed
specially for Mailing Lists.

Specifically, they don't check who a message is 'from' (since mailing lists
can have thousands of contributors), but who a message is 'to' - messages
that were sent 'to' the mailing list address, will be handled by the MLM
entry. If you try and set one up to handle junk mail, it will use your
address (taken from the 'to' field) and handle all mail addressed to you!
